Why Storytelling?

In our world, stories are not entertainment. They are tools of memory, weapons of survival, and maps of return.
We use storytelling to:

  1. Animate erased African cosmologies

  2. Teach through myth and metaphor

  3. Build bridges across the diaspora

  4. Seed civic imagination and community repair

Where It Happens

  • Schools, libraries, festivals, prisons, museums, public parks

  • Online livestreams or workshops

  • Diasporic community centres

  • With partners across Nigeria, Brazil, Uruguay, Haiti, the UK, and the US

Exploring African mythology through storytelling and community engagement.

The Myth Sessions

Live or recorded storytelling workshops where we share reimagined myths from across the continent and diaspora. These may focus on themes like resistance, ecology, justice, or kinship, woven from Chinenye’s published and upcoming books (The Girl Who Climbed the Tree, Meet the Orishas, The Shadow Sky, and more).

The Codex Chronicles

Narrative threads directly from our Codices — FABLE, GRIOT, SPELL, and beyond — crafted as live readings, digital performances, or community storytelling events.

Youth + Elder Circles

We connect generations through storytelling events that honour Windrush voices, diasporic memory, and African folk traditions. These can be co-designed with schools, libraries, or community hubs.

Mythmaker Labs

Residency-style workshops for emerging storytellers, writers, and artists to engage with African mythology, remix forgotten tales, and birth new ones.
